Seasoned Pepper Rings Recipe

Peppers are plentiful here. Bells, sweet, hot (and hopefully soon some super hot peppers too!).

Pepper Plants
So many peppers!

Peppers can help bring any dish to an exciting new level. We like to keep some of these seasoned pepper rings on hand – they make a flavorful addition to pizza, pastas, sandwiches, burgers….or are just great to enjoy on crackers! They are a quick and easy recipe and can easily be adapted to your tastes.

Salted Peppers
Salt peppers and let sit. This removes the water from the peppers. After about an hour, drain and season.

Seasoned Pepper Rings

4 Hungarian Hot Peppers
1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
1/4-1/2 cup canola or vegetable oil
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano

Slice peppers to desired thickness. Toss with salt, and let sit for about an hour.

Drain excess liquid. Add about 1/4 cup oil and seasonings. Toss to coat. Add additional oil to cover, if necessary.

Refrigerate any unused peppers in the oil and seasoning mixture.

    1. After I posted this some folks from a volunteer committee at work made some as a fundraiser and added fresh garlic to them as well. They were a huge hit! You won’t be disappointed!
